Dr. Juan Bahamón is a retired Professor of Neurology at the University of Texas at San Antonio whose lifelong passion for hummingbirds and nature photography has taken him across the Americas in search of these remarkable birds. Born in Colombia and now based in Ecuador, he combines a scientific background with an artistic eye, specializing in hummingbird photography and natural history. Together with his wife, he transformed a former cattle pasture in Northwest Ecuador into the Los 2 Corazones Nature Reserve, a private cloud forest reserve dedicated to habitat restoration, orchids, and hummingbird conservation. Through photography, lectures, and educational tours, Dr. Bahamón shares the beauty, behavior, and conservation challenges of hummingbirds with audiences worldwide.
